And all I can think about , other than how I get out on my next romp in the woods, is what would be a good book to read. So this is a request...
Can you recommend a good summer reading book. Fiction or really compelling non fiction. Something with an impact. Something compelling, something fun, something I can't put down.
What's on your must read list?

I love Iris Johansen. I am currently reaqding Count Down, but it's a continuation of several. I highly recommend her books.
There is Eve Duncan who is a reconstructionist, her husband a police officer (can't remember his name) and Trevor the infinate bad boy, Eve's adopted daughter Jane who has seen way too much for such a young girl.
I guarantee they will leave you on the edge of your seat waiting to see where it goes.
A few months ago I went on a Latin American kick - Isabelle Allende (house of the spirits, zorro), Gabriel Garcia Marquez (100 years of solitude)...
If you haven't read Alive, that turned out to be quite a page turner. As did Uglies (see my blog).
Of course, there's always some good Chick Lit - Nanny Diaries, Devil Wears Prada, etc.
For a while, the Jodi Pocoult books, however formulaic, kept my attention as page turners - I recommend "My Sisters Keeper" or "Pact" to start with.
Oh, that guy who wrote "Sex Lives of Cannibals" has a second book out about his life in Fiji. Bill Bryson is also good for a travel memoire (though don't get "Walk in the Woods", I was disappointed abou this inability to actually stay on the AT). Oh, also "Holy Cow" about a woman who lives in India was quite entertaining.
